Care You Can Count On - Hilbert College Athletic Trainers

HAMBURG, N.Y. - Hilbert College Athletics proudly recognizes and thanks our three athletic trainers during National Athletic Training Month for the exceptional care and dedication they provide to our student-athletes each day.  Thank you head trainer, Dr. Rylee Haffey, associate head trainer, Hailey Lucas, and assistant trainer, Emma Kyes!

Our Hilbert athletic trainers play a vital role in the success of our programs, working tirelessly behind the scenes to prevent injuries, provide immediate care, guide rehabilitation, and support the overall health and well-being of our Hawks. Their expertise, long hours, and commitment ensure that our student-athletes are prepared to compete safely while performing at their best.

From early morning treatments to late-night recovery sessions, their work often goes unnoticed by those outside the program, yet it makes an immeasurable impact on every team and athlete at Hilbert. Their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail help create an environment where student-athletes can thrive both on and off the field.

"Our Athletic Trainers have done an amazing job pushing me to my limit when I needed it most. There were certainly times when I didn't think I could go any further, but they saw more in me than I saw in myself. At the end of the day, I know it was all part of helping me to get back to where I need to be. They always balanced pushing me hard with making sure I was safe and progressing the right way. I'm truly grateful for everything they've done for me, and I appreciate how dedicated they've been throughout my journey," said Men's Basketball sophomore Malachi Hartley.

"A big part of my senior year has been our Athletic Trainers, Rylee, Hailey and Emma. As someone who battled injuries from preseason all the way to the last game, our athletic trainers were there every step of the way. The AT room has turned into a safe space for me and the support I receive in there goes far beyond keeping me healthy and ready to play. Even on the hardest days, they are always there to lift me back up and make me smile and laugh," said Women's Soccer senior Laura Smith.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our athletic training staff for the countless hours they devote to the Hilbert community. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are truly thankful for everything you do to keep our Hilbert Hawks healthy, strong, and ready to compete.

Please be sure to stop in the training room and show your appreciation in person!
