RYE, NY – Hilbert College Women's Hockey took on Manhattanville inside the Playland Ice Casino in this afternoon, as the Hawks fell 8–0 in the second game of the UCHC back-to-back between the Hawks and the hosting Valiants.
Following yesterday's victory over Hilbert, Manhattanville set the tone early with two first‑period goals, taking a 2-0 advantage into the locker room after 20 minutes of play.
Tia Card made 19 stops in the frame, but the offensive pressure of the Valiants led to the early lead.
Manhattanville added three goals in the second period, to extend the lead, before adding three more tallies in the final frame to close out the contest. Hilbert recorded six shots in the third period, led by three from
Victoria Koenig, but the Hawks were unable to solve Manhattanville goaltender Olivia Cimorelli for a second straight matchup, leading to the 8-0 defeat.
Card finished with 58 saves in 51:40 of action, while
Jewely Monford added 11 saves in relief.
Victoria Battaglia led Hilbert in the faceoff circle with 10 wins, and
Sophia Perry added four blocked shots to lead a Hawks' defensive unit that blocked 25 shots.
