HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College Women's Basketball hosted La Roche inside the Hafner Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon in an AMCC matchup. The Redhawks, who come into the contest unbeaten in conference play, remained perfect after a 78–38 victory over the Hawks.
La Roche (9-9, 9-0 AMCC) used an up-tempo attack and forced turnovers early, building a 16–11 lead after the opening quarter before extending the advantage to 34–17 at halftime. La Roche continued to apply pressure in the second half, outscoring Hilbert 22–8 in the third quarter to pull away.
The fourth quarter saw Hilbert produce its best offensive stretch of the game, led by six points from
Bianca Iten and a hit from behind the arc from
Kayla Johnson.
Jayla Jackson and
Promesse Rwigamba also added two points each in the frame.
Iten led the Hawks with 12 points and five rebounds.
Mia Aldaya chipped in seven points, and
Ty'teareya Thomas added six points off the bench. Hilbert collected 41 rebounds on the afternoon, including five from Iten and five from
Nyema Blair.
La Roche was paced by Catherine Kelly, who finished with a game-high 21 points to go along with four steals. The Redhawks forced 32 turnovers and converted them into 41 points, while also scoring 46 points in the paint.
