HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Athletics Department is pleased to announce the Hilbert College Athletes of the Week for September 2, 2025
Molly McKinnon (Women's Volleyball) and Thomas Roty (Men's Cross Country) were recognized for their athletic performances during their respective team's run last week.
Senior Molly McKinnon (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South|SUNY Erie) led the women's volleyball team to a 3-1 record in the opening weekend tournament. The 5-8 Outside Hitter finished with 35 kills, 54 digs, receiving at a .956 clip, and added two blocks and four service aces. McKinnon opened her senior campaign with a 12 kill - 16 dig double-double against SUNY Canton. For the tournament, she averaged 2.33 kills and 3.60 digs per set. The Hawks earned straight-set victories over SUNY Canton and Keuka then tacked another win on with a 3-1 victory over MCLA before falling 3-2 to Pitt-Bradford.
Freshman Thomas Roty (Clarence, NY/Clarence) burst onto the collegiate cross country scene with a standout performance at the 17th Annual Meghan Memorial Race, earning an impressive 3rd place finish in a competitive field of 22 runners. Roty clocked in at 16:44.8 in the 5K event, shattering the previous Hilbert College Men's Cross Country program record of 17:16, set in 2023 by Nick Baritot. His remarkable debut not only earned him a podium finish but also set a new standard for the program moving forward.
