HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), the original Division III Athletic Conference which created the
Be Loud, Be Proud and Be Positive Fan Code of Conduct, began recognizing positive sportsmanship within the league during the 2013-14 academic year.
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference has voted to name the conference All-Sportsmanship Team in honor of outgoing commissioner Donna Ledwin.
Ledwin, who is retiring after spending 23 years as the first commissioner of the AMCC, made sportsmanship, inclusion, and acceptance a focal point of what the conference represents. Renaming the sportsmanship team The Donna Ledwin All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes her for years to come in a way that represents who she is and what she has done for the AMCC.
Today, the Donna Lewin Spring All-Sportsmanship teams for Baseball, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Softball and Men's Volleyball were announced.
Similar to the All-Conference Teams which are selected by head coaches in the AMCC at the conclusion of each sport season, the AMCC is proud to recognize an All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Donna Ledwin All-Sportsmanship Team is a combination of one athlete from each institution, as selected by their own teammates. This athlete is chosen for their elevated level of ethical conduct, and for their respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor.
