HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Softball suffered an AMCC doubleheader loss at Alfred State College today, losing 11–2 in Game 1 and 7–2 in Game 2.
Game 1: Alfred State 11, Hilbert 2
Alfred State took control early scoring in each of the first four innings, including a six-run third to break the game open.
Despite being held scoreless through four innings, Hilbert broke through in the fifth when

Grace Schwarzkopf leading the way with two.

The Pioneers answered immediately and steadily built its lead with runs in the first, second, third, and fifth innings. A two-RBI single in the second and consistent pressure on the bases helped extend the advantage.

Hilbert tallied six hits in the game, with contributions from
Ava Higgins,
Brenna Mulvaney,
Emma Gionta, and Bentley. Esmond scored both runs for Hilbert.
Key Takeaways:
- Hilbert combined for 10 hits across the two games but struggled to string together rallies.
- Madison Esmond scored 3 of Hilbert's 4 total runs on the day.
