Hilbert Dominates Early, Rolls Past Pitt-Bradford 99-84

Morse Records 37-point Double Double

BRADFORD, Pa.  – Hilbert College Men's Basketball delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season, defeating Pitt-Bradford 99–84 on Thursday night inside a packed McDowell Sports & Fitness Center.

The Hawks exploded for 54 first-half points, never trailed, and led by as many as 24 points midway through the second half as they improved to 7-1 and picked up their season-opening AMCC victory.

Senior forward Larry Morse was virtually unstoppable, posting a monster 37-point, 15-rebound double-double while shooting an incredible 15-of-22 from the field in a fast 40-minute performance. Morse set the tone early, scoring 22 points in the first half and controlling the glass with a team-high 11 defensive boards.

The Hawks did not shy away from the running game tonight as Jaden Mitchell, Sonny Williams and Ari Jones flourished in the uptempo pace.

Mitchell chipped in 21 points, nine rebounds and added five assists while Sonny Williams gave the team a big lift, hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc (16 points).  Jones did a little of everything, tossing in 10 points, grabbing seven rebounds along with five assists.

The Hawks shot a blistering 59.7% from the field, including 50% from three, and outscored Pitt-Bradford 62–40 in the paint.
Hawks Control Pace and Precision

Hilbert set the tone through crisp ball movement and strong decision-making, finishing with 23 assists on 37 made baskets. The Hawks also scored 25 fast-break points and converted 26 points off turnovers, capitalizing on their defensive pressure.  For as hard as the Panthers worked in their full court pressure defense, they were sloppy with the ball on offense and gave the Hawks easy transition scores.

Freshman Ne'Sean Fowlks provided a spark off the bench with eight points and four rebounds, while Iyan Bremer added 4 points in limited minutes.

Hilbert continues AMCC action this weekend with a 3pm game at Mount Aloysius College December 6th.
