BUFFALO, N.Y. –Hilbert Women's Basketball fell on the road tonight, dropping a 66-40 non-conference contest to Buffalo State University inside the Bengal's Sports Arena.
The Hawks struggled to find an offensive rhythm early, scoring just eight points in the opening frame and trailed 12–8 after the first quarter. Buffalo State (1-7) used a strong defensive presence and a 19-point second quarter to build an 11-point lead heading into halftime.
The Hawks' offense showed moments of efficiency in the third, shooting 45% from the field, but the Bengals countered with their strongest quarter of the night. The hosts strung together 11 consecutive points, knocking down a trio of hits from beyond the arc over the course of 90-seconds to pull away.
Freshman guard
Learsi Sabala delivered a standout performance off the bench, leading the Hawks with 16 points, adding three rebounds and three steals.
Nyema Blair followed with nine points, three rebounds, and three assists, while
