HAMBURG, NY – Hilbert Women's Soccer hosted Buffalo State University in another non-conference match early in the season.
The Hawks put up a strong showing, having to defend their defensive third most of the game, but slipped in a 2-0 loss to the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Buffalo State set the pace early in the game. The Hawks defensive unit did their best taking away angles, but the Bengals finished a hard cross from the left sideline to the middle of the box.
Keira McFarland, who made a handful of diving saves as the game progressed, was frozen on the header-goal to the back post at 6:07.
That solo score held tight until a deflected pass/shot fell at the foot of a Bengal outside the box who delivered it to the net in the 77th minute.
