ALFRED, NY – Hilbert Women's Soccer traveled to Alfred tonight to open their season with a nonconference game against the Alfred University Saxons. The offense of the Saxons proved to be too much for the Hawks as the hosts took this one 7-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hilbert goalie
Jordan Brown kept Alfred off the board in the opening 20 minutes making three stops, but the Saxons found the back of the net with their fourth shot of the game to make it 1-0 just over 20 minutes in.
The Saxons kept firing the ball at the Hilbert cage, resulting in two more goals before the whistle blew for halftime, making it 3-0 for the hosts at the break.
Alfred wasted little time extending the lead when the game resumed, as they found the back of the net for a fourth time just under four minutes into the second half. They would go on to spread out three more goals in the next 40 minutes to earn the 7-0 opening match victory.
