GREENSBURG, PA – Hilbert Men's Basketball traveled to Chambers Hall this afternoon for a crucial Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matchup with Pitt Greensburg. The Hawks and the Bobcats stayed close throughout the contest, but Greensburg pulled ahead late for the 75-70 victory.
HIGHLIGHTS
Hilbert had a trio of 14-point scorers leading the way offensively in this one.
Edward Perez,
Nathan Moore, and
Jahmel Demery each chipped in with 14 points for the Hawks as the trio accounted for 60% of the Hilbert scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bobcats came out firing from deep, hitting three of their first four shots, all from behind the arc, to claim the game's first nine points. Hilbert was able to settle into the contest and find an answer, as the Hawks grabbed 13 of the game's ensuing 15 points to take their first lead of the contest at 13-11.
- The two teams traded buckets and leads the rest of the first half, with neither team finding much separation on the scoreboard. Greensburg made a layup with ten seconds remaining in the opening half to take a 30-29 lead into the break.
- The Bobcats held this lead for the opening seven minutes of the second half, but a three pointer from Moore knotted up the contest at 52 with 12:15 to go.
- After Greensburg took the lead back, a pair of free throws from Quran Briggs gave the Hawks a 68-67 advantage with less than two minutes to go.
- However, six consecutive made free throws, paired with stops on the defensive end gave the Bobcats a late lead that they would hold on to when the final buzzer sounded.
GAME NOTES
- While no player grabbed double-digit rebounds for either side, Hilbert freshman Larry Morse led the way with nine boards in the game for a new career high. Morse also posted a career-high in points, with six.
- The Hawks did most of their scoring inside the paint this afternoon, holding a slight edge in this department (34-28) over the Bobcats.
