PITTSFORD, NY – Hilbert College Women's Basketball faced Ohio Northern University on the second day of the Woodcliff Hotel and Spa weekend classic hosted by St. John Fisher University.
The Hawks, playing their third game against a top team in their conference's preseason polls, lost to Ohio Northern University, 80-40.
The Polar Bears jumped out to a commanding lead after ten minutes then settled into a more evenly played second quarter. The Hawks were unable to match Ohio Northern's offensive production in the third session and battled back from a 63-20 score at the start of the fourth quarter to the 80-40 final.
Kayla Johnson found her offensive punch connecting on 3-of-5 from deep in the second half and scored all 13 points after the break.
Kelsey Schlagenhauf was consistent throughout and added 12 points off 4-of-9 shooting along with seven rebounds, and
Mackenzie Catan chipped in seven points and one steal.

Hilbert (0-4) will travel this Wednesday with the men's team to Houghton University for a non-conference double header against the Highlanders. The women's game tips at 5:30 pm.
