UTICA, NY – Hilbert College Women's Hockey continued play in Utica this afternoon with the second game of the weekend doubleheader against the eighth ranked Utica University Pioneers. For a second straight day, the hosts found offensive success as they completed the two-game sweep with a 13-0 victory.
Tia Card backstopped the Hawks to their best period of the weekend in the opening twenty minutes. The junior goalie allowed just three goals while making 30 saves in the frame to hold Utica to just a trio of tallies after the Pioneers struck for at least four goals in each period last night.
After struggling to find the back of the net early, the hosts doubled their total from the first period with a six-spot in the game's middle frame to take a 9-0 advantage into the third. They would add four more goals in the final twenty minutes to take this one 13-0.
Brook Thompson occupied the Hilbert net for the second and third periods making 34 saves in the game, including a 21-stop effort in the third.
