BRADFORD, PA – Hilbert Women's Soccer traveled to play Pitt Bradford this evening under the lights at Kessel Athletic Complex. The Hawks and Panthers entered the contest next to each other in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference standings, and a 0-0 draw saw the teams remain that way at the conclusion of the evening.
The scoreless draw saw plenty of action, and plenty of chances for each side to grab a decisive goal. Hilbert held a 7-5 advantage in shots in the first half, but the hosting Panthers turned up the pressure in the second 45 with a 12-3 advantage in that department.
Evin Stauffer started the game off with a trio of chances, but the Hilbert sophomore saw a pair of her shots get stopped, while hitting the post with the other attempt.
Michaela Olson tried her luck with back-to-back shots, but Bradford goalie Madison Coe stayed sharp after entering the game in the 26
th minute, stopping both to send the teams to the break scoreless.
The Panthers came out searching for game's first goal in the second half, firing five shots at the Hilbert net in the first 15 minutes.
Keira McFarland stopped both attempts on target for her second and third saves of the game.
After Hilbert picked up their offensive efforts with shots by
Chloe Champagne (2) and
Alex Frydel, Bradford sent a late-game flurry at McFarland's net. The Hilbert goalie remained perfect, adding three more stops to her total in the final 15 minutes to earn the clean sheet and preserve the 0-0 tie for the Hawks.
