Second Half Comeback Leads Women's Soccer to 3-2 Victory

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Soccer used a second-half comeback to lead them to a 3-2 victory over Bryant & Stratton today. The win avenges the earlier loss to the Bobcats and builds confidence for the squad heading into the conference schedule.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a tightly contested open to the first half, which saw shots each way, it was the Bobcats that would open the scoring in this one. Deborah Weston scored the breakthrough for the home side in the 38th minute of the half. Imara Nesbitt doubled the Bobcat lead just four minutes later. The 2-0 advantage would stand heading into the halftime break.

The second half of the match saw the Hawks turn on the pressure and use three goals in four minutes to steal the win. Chloe Champagne started the comeback with a goal in the 73rd minute assisted by Grace Zabawa. Just two minutes later, Zabawa would even the score with a tally of her own. The momentum continued as Zabawa found Evin Stauffer for the freshman's first career goal in the 76th minute. The Stauffer goal would hold up as the winner in this one, as the efforts of the back line and goalkeeper Hailey Kuder kept the Bobcats scoreless in the second half.
