Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Andrew Loveless

Women's Soccer Falls to Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Hilbert women's soccer suffered a 3-0 defeat in today's nonconference matchup with Brockport. The red-hot Golden Eagles came into the contest with a record of 7-1-1. They used an onslaught of shots to grab their eighth win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The shots came early and often for the Golden Eagles in this one. Hilbert goalkeeper Keira McFarland was tested early, making two stops inside four minutes. The lone shot on goal of the contest for the Hawks came courtesy of Tahlia Kosek in the ninth minute. After ten straight saves to start the game, McFarland was finally beaten in the 42nd minute by Jaylah Crossin of the Golden Eagles for the 1-0 lead. McFarland would make two more saves before the whistle blew for halftime, bringing her total to 12 in the first 45.

Brockport doubled their lead early in the second half when Franchesca Polcaro found the back of the net after a corner kick. Crossin added her second of the game in the 60th minute to give her squad a 3-0 advantage. With much of the play in the Hilbert end, the Golden Eagles managed to fire off 49 shots, 25 of which found the target.

GAME NOTES
  • McFarland made a career-high 22 saves.
  • The Hawks did not commit a single foul as a team.
