BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hilbert women's soccer dropped this afternoon's contest in Buffalo vs the Bengals. The hosting Buffalo State women's team fired off 26 shots in their 3-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bengals come out firing, forcing Hilbert goalkeeper,
Keira McFarland, to make five early saves. Hilbert had a chance of their own with a
Laura Smith shot on target, but it was turned aside by Samantha Kaufman of Buff State. The breakthrough for the Bengals happened at the 15-minute mark, as Kaylee Valentic found the back of the net on her team's sixth shot of the game. Valentic added another goal to double the lead before the whistle blew for halftime.
The second half was more tightly contested, with the Bengals taking four shots on target, to the Hawks two. The lead was brought to 3-0 however, with an Elle Bush goal 10 minutes into the half. This would be the end of the scoring in the contest as the hosts came out on top 3-0.

The Hawks will look to get back into the win column when they return home on Wednesday, September 20th. The Highlanders from Houghton will come in town for a 4 PM kickoff at Hawk Field.
