HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hawks' Women's Soccer team fell to the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton today at home. The visiting Bobcats were able to capitalize on their chances in front of goal on their way to a 3-0 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The match started as a back-and-forth battle with solid chances each way.
Chloe Champagne came out firing early for the Hawks with two shots on target in the first 15 minutes of the contest. Freshman goalkeeper
Keira McFarland also got out to a hot start for the Hawks, stopping the first five shots sent her way. However, the Bobcats eventually broke through by way of a Nicelle Drew goal in the 29th minute. After two more
McFarland stops, the visitors found the back of the net once again after a Masego Nfandiso shot found the top corner to double the lead. The Bobcats took their 2-0 advantage into the halftime break.
Grace Zabawa did all she could to bring the Hawks back in this one, with a pair of shots early in the second half, including a close call off the post. Unfortunately for Hilbert, Mireia Ferraro Rosino was in the way of every shot, making seven saves in the shutout effort. Bryant & Stratton added one more goal late in the game as Alba Serrano finished off a Nina Kotroba free kick.
GAME NOTES
