WEST SENECA, N.Y. – The Hilbert College Hawks ice hockey team hosted the SUNY Buffalo State Bengals for their final home game of the inaugural season. The meeting between the two teams is the second of a three-game series this season. The previous meeting saw the Bengals skate away with a 12-1 victory on home ice.

How it Happened: It took Buff State 13 minutes before they found the back of the net and added another one late in the first to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. The second period was another closely contested one until the Bengals took a timeout and scored 2-goals in quick succession following. They chipped in another before the end of the period. They added two more in the third and left the South towns with a 7-0 win.

The Hawks improved all over the ice from the last matchup with Buff State. Last time out the Bengals had 66 shots on net. This game they were held to 43. The Hawks skaters blocked 11 shots as well led by Kayla Myers and Abby MacNeil with three each. Jewely Monford stood on her head and kept the Hawks in the game as best as possible given the circumstances saving 36 shots she faced.
 
What's Next: Hilbert College travels to downtown Buffalo tomorrow for the final matchup of the Western NY teams this season. Puck drop is at 3PM at SUNY Buffalo State.
