Pittston, Pa. – The Hilbert College Hawks ice hockey team traveled to King's College for the first of two games against the Monarchs to close out the inaugural season.

How it Happened: It took the Monarchs 11 minutes and 57 seconds to notch their first tally of the night and halfway through the first period the Hawks led the game in shots on net 6-5. At the end of the first it was 1-0.  

Hilbert went 0-5 on the power play; however, they created 9 shots off their opportunities. King's meanwhile went 2-6 including the first goal of three scored in the second period. Once the Monarchs added three more in the third Jewely Monford (43 saves on 50 shots) was replaced with Cassie Troy who made both saves on the shots she faced over the final 9-minutes of play.

The Hawks skaters collectively blocked 22 shots on net including four each from Jacqueline Alaburda, Abby MacNeil, and Abby Dawson. The 22 shots on net from the Hawks is a new program record, unfortunately they were unable to find the back of the net. Alaburda paced the offensive attack with 9 shots.

The final score was 7-0 King's College who picked up their first win of the season.

What's Next: Hilbert College's final game of the season is a rematch with the Monarchs tomorrow at 2PM at King's College.
