BUFFALO, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Hockey hosted the Chatham University Cougars this evening in their second annual outdoor game at Buffalo Riverworks. Each period of the contest saw four goals, as the visiting Cougars took home the 11-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Much of the first period produced back-and-forth play, with the two teams trading chances. The two teams combined for 21 shots in the first 15 minutes, with 17 of those being stopped by Hilbert goalie,
Tia Card.
However, Chatham broke the ice on a powerplay goal with just over four minutes to play in the opening frame. The tally opened the floodgates for the Cougars, as they would tack on three more tallies before the end of the first.
The Chatham offense picked up right where they left off after the first intermission. The visiting Cougars controlled the puck in the Hilbert zone for much of the second period, resulting in four more pucks finding the back of the net to make it an 8-0 game after two periods of play.
Chatham continued to apply the pressure in the third period, adding on a trio of goals inside the first ten minutes of the final frame.

UP NEXT
The team will head to Indiana their next time out for a double header with Trine University. The pair of games are scheduled for December 8th and 9th at Thunder Ice Arena.
