PITTSBURGH, Pa. The Hilbert College Women's Soccer team ensured their top 4 ranking in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference standings after battling to a 1-1 tie against La Roche University this afternoon.

The Hawks, as either the 3rd or 4th seeded team will host the program's second-ever AMCC First Round postseason game Saturday, October 28th.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hilbert went on attack early in the first half, earning back-to-back corners in the 8th minute which led up to Grace Zabawa's first shot.
• But it was La Roche's Alexandra Mecchia who scored the first goal of the game at 12:19 and that score held through to half time.
• Hilbert continued to push, earning two more shots and a pair of corners before intermission while limiting the Redhawks to four shots in the first half.
• It didn't take long for the Hawks to find the back of the net as Grace Zabawa beat Julianna Hornikel less than five minutes into the second period.
• Hilbert's defensive core did a fantastic job keeping the Redhawks away from the box. 
• The Hawks poked the ball away from the net on four different occasions in the middle of the second half and kept the pressure off Jordan Brown in the net. 

GAME NOTES

• Jordan Brown recorded three saves as she moved to 4-3-1 in her rookie campaign.
• Zabawa led the Hawks with three shots, Isabelle Hilbert was credited with the Hawks' only other shot on goal while Eliana Rocha added one shot from the midfield.

The Hawks (5-2-1 AMCC|6-7-1 overall) have one game remaining on their regular season schedule.  They will travel to undefeated Penn State Behrend (7-0-1) Tuesday, October 24th for a 7:00 PM game in Erie, Pa.
