HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ashley Schroeder started off the game for the Hawks scoring her first attempt from beyond the 3 point arc 2 minutes into the game. After a few made shots from Penn State Hilbert found themselves down 10-3 early but after a good run of play where Kelsey Schlagenhauf scored four points and Makenzie Catan hit a 3 they found themselves in close game to close out the first quarter.
- The second quarter though came up all Penn State as they would go on a great run hitting continuously from beyond the arc and began to pull away with the game. Monika Allen subbed in for the Hawks and managed to stop Penn States great run by scoring but it was not enough and Hilbert found themselves down 38-23 at half time.
- The Hawks struggled both offensively and defensively in the second half of play. One bright spot for them was Grace Zabawa and Alesia Hamm who would both connect on their free throws to score 2 points apiece.
- Hilbert managed to get two more buckets in the fourth quarter with Jocelyn Poindexter scoring on a layup and Mackenzie Catan scoring another 3 pointer but it was not enough as Penn State would go on to win the game 75-40.
