ANGOLA, Ind. – The Hilbert College Hawks women's ice hockey team traveled 6-hours West today to faceoff against the Trine University Thunder. The matchup was the third time the two teams have played each other in the 2022-2023 season. Friday night was Pink the Rink night in commemoration of breast cancer awareness and research.

What Happened: The Hawks spotted Trine 5-goals in the first ten minutes of the game before stepping up their game play to match the faster and more physicality of their opponent. The last 50 minutes of the game also saw Trine score 5-goals but the Hawks worked a lot better as a team during the latter 50 minutes. The turning point in the game came when Jacqueline Alaburda made a diving save to break up an empty net opportunity for the Thunder. Tia Card made an astounding 76-saves in net. Hilbert successfully killed off all four of their penalties.

What's Next: The fourth and final matchup of the season versus the Trine Thunder at 2PM on 1/21/23.
