Hawks Fall on the Road

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Hilbert College Hawks women's ice hockey team played the final matchup of the season in a 4-game series with the Trine University Thunder.

What Happened: The Hawks battled much stronger out of the gate against the Thunder than the previous night's game. It took Trine University 13 minutes and 54 seconds before finding the back of the net for the first time thanks to some terrific defense and staunch goaltending from Jewely Monford. At the end of the first period the score was 1-0 Trine, a vast improvement from the night prior. Trine scored four times in the second and three times in the third. The final score was 8-0. Kirsten Kyte was named player of the game for her strong work on the penalty kill and her offensive opportunities in the game.

What's Next: A rematch with the SUNY Buffalo State Bengals at home at Leisure Rinks in West Seneca on February 3rd will be the final home game of the inaugural season for the Hawks.
