MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Hawks took the field this morning, less than 11 hours from the final pitch of their doubleheader last night and competed hard for all 9 innings, but ultimately ran out of gas late to fall 13-8 to Penn State Berks.

Game Summary:
* Joseph Cobb made his first career collegiate start this morning. The southpaw tossed two shutout innings to open the game and pitched into the third frame.
* Berks scored the first run of the game in the third and tacked on a pair more in the fourth to take an early 3-0 lead.
* Hilbert scored the next three runs off of four stolen bases and timely hitting.
* From there, the Lions offenses took advantage of some free bases given out by the Hawks pen to break a 3-3 tie in the sixth and score 10 runs over the final three innings.
* The Hawks offense showed late life as they loaded the bases for a bases clearing 3-run double from Angelo DiNizo to cut the deficit to five.
* DiNizo had another mult-hit day and drove in four runs. Jonathan Wilson added a pair of stolen bases.
