MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Hilbert took the filed again today, playing a doubleheader against Bethany College marking their eighth and nineth game in just six days. The Hawks battled hard throughout, but the bounces fell the Bison' way today, resulting in a pair of close losses.

Game 1: Bethany 4, Hilbert 2
Game 2: Bethany 5, Hilbert 4
Records: Bethany 4-5, Hilbert 3-6
Game One:
* Misael Guzman Caez made his second start of the season in game one. The southpaw paced the Hawks on defense, allowing just three hits over six innings of work and added four strikeouts.
* The Bison got on the scoreboard first in the second frame and added another in the fifth via walks to take a 2-0 lead heading into the fifth.
* Hilbert got on the board in the bottom of the fifth with by way of a Samuel Mullen RBI double to score Thomas Evans.
* Bethany tacked on another run in both the sixth and seventh to take a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh.
* The Hawks wouldn't go down quietly as Angelo DiNizo, Jairo Santos and Thomas Evans had back to back to back singles to score DiNizo before falling 4-2.
* Angelo DiNizo had another multi-hit game in game one.
Game Two:
* Camerin Holmes made his second start of the season in game two and logged his second complete game of the season.
* The Hawks offense started slow, as they saw themselves trailing 4-0 heading into the top of the sixth.
* Hilbert wouldn't go down without a fight as they came storming back, scoring four unaswered via a sixth inning Patrick Whelan RBI single, followed by a 2-RBI single from Whelan in the seventh and an RBI double from Angelo DiNizo to follow.
* After tying it up at 4-4, Holmes retook the mound. The Bison were able to manufacture a run to earn the walk-off win.
* Santino Turello, John Riviere-Vejas, Patrick Whelan and Angelo DiNizo all logged multi-hit games, with Whelan driving in 3-RBI.
