BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Hawks made the short trip across town to play a single 9 this afternoon to take on the Mavericks. It was the start of a new chapter for the Mavs as they unveiled their new field while hosting Hilbert for their home opener. The Hawks led throughout, topping the Mavs by a final of 11-3.

Game Summary:
* Misael Guzman Caez made his fourth start of the season and picked up his first win after tossing five strong frames.
* Hilbert wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as they took advantage of three early errors to put up four runs in the first.
* Guzman Caez blanked the Mavs over the next two frames before Medaille scratched across a run in the third to cut the lead to three.
* The Hawks answered immediately with a run in the top of the fourth off of a Jackson Choinski sac fly to plate Brandon Job to go up 5-1.
* In the sixth, coach Fittry turned to the bullpen, handing the ball to true freshman Blaine Morgan. The mavs touched him up for a pair of hits and runs in the sixth to keep the game close at 6-3.
* Morgan locked in immediately after, blanking the Medaille offense over the final three frames to help the Hawks to an 11-3 win.
* Misael Guzman Caez picked up the win on the mound and Blaine Morgan was credited for the save. The two Hawks arms combined for a eye popping 15 strikeouts on the day.
* John Riviere-Vejas, Thomas Evans and Jairo Santos logged multi-hit games for the Hawks and Santino Turello logged the lone extra base hit for the royal and white when he smacked a triple to deep left.
* The Hawks continued to wreak havoc on the bases again today as they combined for a season-high 12 stolen bases.
