BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Hawks came out flat, dropping game one 7-2. They responded swiftly in game two scoring early and often to come away with a 12-9 win.

Game 2: Hilbert 12, Geneva 9
Records: Hilbert 4-9, Geneva 3-8
Game One:
* Misael Guzman Caez made his third start of the season in game one. The southpaw struggled with command before being pulled after two innings of work.
* The Golden Tornadoes got the offense going early, scoring four runs over the first two frames to build an early 4-0 advantage.
* The Hawks responded in the fourth with a Jairo Santos RBI double which plated Patrick Whelan to cut the deficit to three.
* Geneva tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the frame to take a commanding 7-1 lead.
* Hilbert showed late life, loading the bases with one out in the seventh by way of a Santino Turello single followed by a pair of walks, but were only able to scratch across a run before Geneva closed it out for the 7-2 win.
* Freshman Jairo Santos led the way at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.
Game Two:
* Camerin Holmes made his third start of the season in game two. Holmes kept the Golden Tornado hitters off balance early to help the Hawks offense build an early advantage.
* The Hawks offense got going early as five of the first six Hawk hitters reached base safely, resulting in three runs. The big hit in the inning came with the bases loaded as Thomas Evans ripped a single to right to plate two.
* The offense was back at it in the second, scoring four more off another 2-RBI single from Evans, along with an RBI walk from Jairo Santos.
* Geneva scored five unanswered over the next two frames to cut the lead to two going into the fifth.
* Hilbert responded with five runs over the final three innings and got a strong relief appearance from Brendan Walsh to power the game two win.
* John Riviere-Vejas had an impressive four hit, four stolen base performance. Thomas Evans also had a monster day pouring in three hits and logging five RBI.
