- Hilbert forced bad shots and converted on their offensive end.
- Mackenzie Catan drilled a pair of deep 2-pointers to pull the Hawks within one (13-14) and Grace Zabawa finished a full-court break away layup before the horn to lift Hilbert 15-14.
- Carlow jumped back on top 19-17 at 7:47 but thanks to tremendous effort and focus on the rim, Zabawa and Schroeder gave the Hawks a big lift with back-to-back 'and-one' trips to stretch the hosts by four points (23-19).
- Schroeder connected from downtown which off-set Carolow's desperation heave before the half time horn which set the 34-25 Hilbert lead.
- Hilbert continued to fuel points and held a 16-point advantage with 1:32 remaining in the third and settled for the 49-35 score at the start of the final quarter.
- Both teams traded scores to a 53-39 result early in the fourth, then Carlow began to scratch their way back into the game.
- The Celtics went on 16-0 run, pulled within two points with 5:11 left.
- Kisner turned the ball over, then secured an immediate steal which led to a score and potential 3-point play which was a huge emotional lift for the Hawks.
- Alesia Hamm battled for her own offensive rebound put-back to give Hilbert a much needed six-point cushion because Carlow drilled a 3-pointer and went 2-for-2 at the foul line setting the 59-58 score with just under 50-seconds left in the game.
- The Hawks had one look at the rim, then played defense out of a Carlow timeout under their hoop with seven-seconds remaining.
- The Celtics missed two shots inside the lane and Kisner secured the defensive rebound before the time on the clock expired.
