West Seneca, N.Y. - The Hilbert College Hawks ice hockey team hosted the Trine University Thunder for the second time in two days.
How it Happened: Trine scored twice in the first, but it took them nearly 16 minutes before they found the back of the net for their first goal. The Thunder added four more in the second and five in the third. The final score was 11-0.
The Hawks effort from yesterday improved tremendously. The defense of
Abby MacNeil,
Kayla Myers, and
Courtney Wesolowski played extremely selfless blocking shots on net. Goaltender
Jewely Monford started her first collegiate game and made 54 saves in the process. Monford earned player of the game honors for her resilience in net.Â
What's Next: The Hawks return before the second semester begins with the outdoor game against SUNY Cortland at Buffalo Riverworks on January 10th at 3PM.
