HERSHEY, P.a. – The Hilbert College Hawks ice hockey program took the ice for their second ever NCAA DIII matchup on the road this time against the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen.
Cassie Troy made her first collegiate start and was terrific in net stopping 88% of the shots she faced. Troy was named player of the game by the coaching staff after her 50 save performance!
Abby Dawson led the Hawks forecheck and had two shots on net. Her physicality was necessary for a Hawks team that struggled to keep offensive zone pressure but played much better in the defensive and neutral zones than the previous day against Alvernia.
The two Finlandia transfers provided a veteran presence this weekend that was noticed and appreciated by the coaching staff.
The Hawks players combined blocked 18 shots. A true testament of putting their bodies on the line for their teammates.
Final LVC 7 - Hilbert 0.
Up Next – The Hawks head to SUNY Canton to face the Roos twice over Veteran's Day weekend.
