HIGHLIGHTS

Alesia Hamm and Macy Kisner effectively subdued the Panthers - both having double doubles and dominating the boards. Alesia Hamm had nine offensive boards and three defensive rebounds to pair with her 16 points. Macy Kisner hit a season high 20 rebounds - six offensively, 14 defensively, and tacked on 20 points and five steals. Both Hamm and Kisner played the full 40 minutes of the game as well. This is Kisner's seventh double double of the season and Hamm's fourth.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • To start the game the Hawks put their foot on the gas and never let up - Ashley Schroeder started the scoring for Hilbert in the first minute of play.
  • Macy Kisner hit one of her two 3-pointers of the night off a pass from Alesia Hamm at the halfway mark of the first quarter to continue the spark for the Hawks.
  • Captain Ashley Schroeder stepped up and stole the ball from one of the Panther guards, fed it to Mackenzie Catan, who then found Captain Alesia Hamm speeding down the sideline to the paint. Catan hit Hamm who hit a textbook layup in the paint to bring the score to 9-2 with almost five minutes left in the first quarter.
  • The spark seemed to be fading in the game until Alesia Hamm grabbed a defensive board and found teammate Macy Kisner down the floor. Kisner hit a good jumper in the paint to reignite the spark in the last two minutes.
  • Kisner hit another fast break layup in the paint in the last three seconds of the first quarter to give the Hawks a seven point lead as the buzzer went off.
  • Hilbert started the second quarter off just like the first, stepping on the pedal and not letting up - Ashley Schroeder hit a jumper in the first minute of play to add to the Hawks lead.
  • In the next minute of play, Kisner hit her second 3-pointer of the game, assisted by freshman Mackenzie Catan.
  • Catan would then be fouled going for a layup and would get put at the line where she made both of her free throws, giving the Hawks an 11 point lead with eight minutes still on the clock.
  • The second quarter proved to be a tumultuous back and forth of attempts, but Alesia Hamm turned it on in the last 90 seconds before half, scoring five points with a jumper in the paint, a made free throw attempt, and a classic layup.
  • The Hawks stomped on the Panthers going into halftime with a 14 point lead, 32-18.
  • Coming out of halftime the Hawks continued their scoring ways, with Macy Kisner extending the lead by 16 with a good jumper only 33 seconds in.
  • Ashley Schroeder hit Mackenzie Catan for a good jumper right outside the paint, while the Panthers continued with their loose man to man defense.
  • Halfway through the third quarter, the Hawks Captains worked together with Alesia Hamm finding Ashley Schroeder outside the line for a good 3-pointer.
  • McKenzie Walker continued the sparkle and added her fast break layup with a clean pass from Macy Kisner.
  • The Hawks hit their biggest lead of the game with a gap of 18 at 3:59 left in the third quarter with a layup by Macy Kisner.
  • Although Pitt.-Bradford outscored Hilbert 15-11 in the third quarter, the Hawks still had a 10 point dominate lead with the energy heading into the fourth quarter.
  • The Panthers then begin to crawl their way back coming within a mere four points with eight minutes left in the game.
  • Alesia Hamm took the game into her own hands as she was fouled by the Panthers and hit one of her two baskets at the free throw line. She  followed it up with a drive in the paint for an and-one, and then repeated with another fastbreak in the paint to be fouled again with a made basket and another and-one at the foul line. This back to back excursion caused a 10 point swing and separation that the Panthers were unable to recover from.
  • Macy Kisner continued to smash the boards with teammate Alesia Hamm creating foul trouble for the Panthers.
  • Hamm grabbed an offensive board and was put at the line again halfway through the fourth quarter due to the bonus situation created by the Panthers, where she made both free throw attempts.
  • Kisner persisted in her offensive rebounding attempts, grabbing a missed 3-point attempt by Ashley Schroeder and putting it right back up for another made bucket.
  • The Hawks fought right up until the last seven seconds despite having an 11 point lead, with Macy Kisner stealing the ball and setting the last of the tone for the game.
