Kisner Pushes Hilbert in Hawks AMCC Road Game at Greensburg

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Hawks from Hilbert found themselves in a deep hole after three quarters then rallied in the final session before falling in an 81-39 AMCC defeat to the Bobcats from Pitt-Greensburg this afternoon in women's basketball.

HIGHLIGHTS

Macy Kisner tossed in 18 points leading the Hawks in the scoring column and Alesia Hamm led Hilbert with nine rebounds, seven offensive.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hawks fell behind early after committing 10 first-quarter turnovers.  Grace Zabawa put the Hawks on the scoreboard first then Macy Kisner and McKenzie Walker finished the scoring before Greensburg built a 30-8 advantage after ten minutes.
  • Hilbert held onto the ball in the second quarter and added three more buckets but found themselves down 45-14 at the break.
  • The Hawks scored nine points in the third quarter yet committed five more turnovers.  Mackenzie Catan hit a jumper four minutes into the period, Zabawa finshed a fastbreak lay up and Kisner added another 3-point play before Alesia Hamm hit a jumper with 18-seconds left.
  • Hilbert matched Greensburg's efforts in the fourth quarter, tossing in 16 points to the hosts 18.  Kisner led with nine points, Hamm converted one of her multiple offensive rebounds into two points, and Zabawa knocked down a 3-pointer before Walker scored another fastbreak bucket pushing in Hilbert's offensive efforts.
GAME NOTES
  • Grace Zabawa added nine points and led with three steals.
  • The Hawks closed the league game shooting 28.6-percent from the floor, 14.3-percent from beyond the arc and worked for 31 total rebounds.
  • Greensburg got balanced scoring with five Bobcats reaching double figure points.  The hit 48.7-percent of their shots, and earned 20 offensive rebounds (50 total).
