HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women
's basketball team played competitively with Penn State Behrend for all four quarters but the slow accumulated deficit each quarter eventually was too much for the Hawks to overcome in their 88-71 defeat on the Hafner home court tonight.

HIGHLIGHTS
Ashley Schroeder led the Hawks with 21 points and three steals.
Alesia Hamm had the game-high minutes with 39, had eight offensive rebounds, and 14 total points shooting at 58%.
Grace Zabawa had a season high 19 points in only 33 minutes and shot 40% with a 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Penn St.-Behrend slowly crept to a 22-19 in the first ten minutes. Both teams kept the clock running, but it was the Hawks with eight fast break points in the first quarter.
- Hilbert continued pressing in the second quarter scoring 15 points to the Lions 22.
- By half time, Hilbert was shooting 50% from the free throw line and had 32 total rebounds.
- Coach Bullock fired her team up in the locker room, as the Hawks came out firing on all cylinders scoring 17 points in the 3rd quarter to the Lions 18 points, starting with a steal by Belle Oakley in the first 15 seconds of the 3rd.
- The steals continued in the 3rd quarter by Alesia Hamm and Ashley Schroeder, pushing the Hawks to chop at the deficit, cutting it to 11 going into the 4th.
- Unfortunately, the Hawks ran out of time chipping away at the lead. Penn St.-Behrend held a 6 to 2 advantage in fast-break points and a 16 to 6 in points in the paint.
GAME NOTES
- Macy Kisner added 10 points and six rebounds while Alesia Hamm and Ashley Schroeder both tied for five assists.
- The Hawks shot 36.6 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from deep and went to the foul line 16 times, making nine for a 56.3 percent take. They earned a total 45 rebounds and committed 26 unfortunate turnovers.
- Penn St.-Behrend shot 44.7 percent from the field, made only 18.8 percent of their 3-point attempts, and went to the foul line only 10 times, making nine. They only out rebounded the Hawks by 6 rebounds at 51 and turned the ball over a total of 18 times.
