HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's basketball team played even with Brockport in the middle two quarters but a slow start and slow finish hurt the Hawks in their 74-43 defeat at home tonight.

HIGHLIGHTS
Ashley Schroeder led the Hawks with 15 points and five steals, sharing game-high minutes with
Alesia Hamm (35) who chipped in four assists, four rebounds and four points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brockport jumped out to a 21-7 lead after ten minutes. After Belle Oakley knotted the game at 2-2, the Golden Eagles went on a 15-point run to take a commanding lead.
- Hilbert matched the green and gold on the scoreboard in the second quarter, pouring in 17 points (vs 20).
- Schroeder knocked in 11 of the team's 17 points in that run but they still trailed by 18 points at the break.
- Hilbert came out of the locker room a different team. They challenged Brockport on defense, and forced four turnovers in the first five minutes of the quarter.
- At the same time, the Hawks came alive on offensive driving to the rim and making shots in the paint.
- Hilbert cut the margin to nine points on two occasions before Brockport went back up by 12 (52-40) a the start of the fourth quarter.
- Things did not go the Hawks way in the final period as they missed 16 shots from the floor and scored only three points in ten minutes. Macy Kisner tallied an old fashioned three-point play just two minutes into the quarter.
GAME NOTES
- Macy Kisner added nine points and five rebounds while Grace Zabawa hit a three from deep and dished three assists.
- The Hawks shot 30.5-percent from the floor, 11.8-percent from deep and went to the foul line only seven times, making five. They earned 22 rebounds and committed 20 turnovers.
- Brockport shot 55.4-percent from the field, made six 3-pointers, and went to the foul line eight time, making six. They were credited with 47 rebounds and turned the ball over 24 times.
