HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's basketball team took on Elmira College tonight in their final game before the Thanksgiving break.
The Hawks were hungry for competition and upended the undefeated Soaring Eagles to earn their first win of the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Macy Kisner notched her fourth double-double after posting 23 points, went 3-for-5 from deep and without making a trip to the charity stripe. She added 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals in team-high 38 minutes.
- Alesia Hamm also earned her second double-double tossing in 14 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, five on the offensive glass.
- Ashley Schroeder reached her third 20-point game tonight. She went 7-for-8 at the foul line, scored 20 points, and dished seven assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first 10 minutes of action were tight as neither team was able to pull away early. After four tie scores and four lead changes, the Hawks closed the session with back-to-back buckets leading 18-17 into the break.
- Hilbert built a ten point lead by half time thanks to hustle plays, offensive rebounds and good shooting. The Hawks stretched a 27-26 score to 36-26 at the horn fueled by Alesia Hamm's seven points in that run.
- Macy Kisner unlocked the lid on the basket with a made 3 just 15 seconds into the second half and Ashley Schroeder extended the margin to 15 points on the next trip down the floor.
- Elmira battled back to a one-point deficit (45-44) with 1:32 left but that was as close as they got that period after Schroeder and Hamm tag-teamed the scoring column.
- Schroeder knocked down 5 quick points in a 20 second run lifting the Hawks back on top by 10 again and it stayed that was the rest of the period.
GAME NOTES
- Kendyl Kerner pulled down six rebounds and was credited with three steals on defense.
- Hilbert, a guard heavy team, dominated the glass, outrebounding Elmira 51-40 with an 18-8 advantage on the offensive end.
- The Hawks finished the game hitting 36.4-percent from the floor, 26.3-percent from the arc and made 8-of-12 free throws for the win.
- Elmira closed the game hitting 43.3-percent from the field, made only one 3-pointer in 13 attempts and hit only 7-of-17 free throws.
- Hilbert was credited with 17 assists as they made the extra pass to get the bucket while Elmira drove to the hoop for one-on-one scores.

The Hawks have a few days off to celebrate the holiday season with their families. They return to action this Saturday, November 27 when they host The College at Brockport (4:00 pm), their sixth SUNY opponent this fall semester.
