HAMBURG, N.Y. - Hilbert College earned a 72-66 victory over SUNY Canton and earned the right to play in the Hawks Against Hunger Title game tomorrow against John Carroll University who earned a 109-98 win over Keuka College in the night cap.
John Carroll's Jackson Sartain set new Single Game Tip-Off Tournament records when he scored 55 points and drilled 15-made 3-pointers in 33 minutes of action.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Hilbert battled SUNY Canton all night long in the early game. Both teams played through 11 lead changes and four knotted scores, but the Hawks were tougher down the stretch to pull out the win.
- Elijah Powell and Jahmel Demery shared scoring honors with 12 each, and Powell pulled down 9 rebounds, matching Eric Jackson's efforts on the glass.
- Edward Perez and Jackson shared team-high assist honors with four each as the Hawks were credited with 16 in the game.
- John Carroll outlasted the Wolves from Keuka who rotated new substitutions in the game every 90 seconds.Â
- The Blue Streak were ready for that style of play and broke the 100-point plateau with five minutes still left in the game.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hilbert and Canton went through six lead changes in the first fourteen minutes of the opening game as both teams were trying to find the right combination on the court.
- The Hawks regained the lead off a Nevada Eldridge jumper at 4:39 and never looked back the rest of the half.Â
- They stretched their lead to double figures off a pair of freebies by Jahmel Demery and reached the 41-29 half time score off a jumper by Eric Jackson.
- The Hawks maintained their double-digit lead, building it as high as 14Â off a Jon Evans jumper at the foul line at 13:59.Â
- But the Roos did not quit and rallied back, forcing a 58-58 score with just under six minutes left in the game.
- Hilbert was efficient on offense down the stretch and created an 8-point margin with 90 seconds left in the game.Â
- Canton pulled within four points, but a pair of Shawn Gashi free throws with seven seconds left sealed the 6-point win.
GAME NOTES
- Hilbert held advantages in points off turnovers (19-7), 2nd chance points (19-12), bench points (38-11) and points in the paint (30-20).
- Canton knocked down 42-percent of their field goal attempts and went 21-33 at the foul line, while the Hawks finished the game hitting just 37.8-percent from the floor and made only 13-of-18 at the charity stripe.

SUNY Canton and Keuka College will face each other in the 1:00 pm Consolation Game Saturday, November 13.
Hilbert and John Carroll will face each other for the first time in the Tip-Off Tournament even though the Blue Streak have made three appearances over the span of the 11-year tourney.
