Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's lacrosse team hit the road for their first game back in New York today as they traveled to the University of Rochester for their first meeting ever. The Yellowjackets took the early season victory 17-1.
Rochester scored the game's first eight goals before
Megan Smith scored Hilbert's only tally at 20:31. The hosts continued to push towards the frame and strung together eight more goals before half time.
Hilbert's defense limited Rochester to a single second half goal at 27:00 for the 16-goal victory.
Smith and
Ashley Viengmay were the only Hawks to maneuver for a single shot on goal as Rochester outshot Hilbert by a 27-2 margin.
Meghan Stewart took the loss between the pipes making four saves in the first 30-minutes of action.
Stephanie Glaza gave up one score while making one save in the second half.
Hilbert will face John Carroll University on the weekend as they get back into the swing of things up north.
