Seniors Shine in Final Game Of Their Career

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert Women's Lacrosse dropped their final game of the 2026 season – an AMCC contest to La Roche, 7-1, at Frontier High School.

Prior to the game, the Hawks honored eight seniors for their dedication and commitment to the program: Jacqueline Alaburda, Olivia Horn, Michaela Rice, McKenna Rice, Madison Matuszak, Jewely Monford, Madeleine Cook, and Caitlin Conrad.

La Roche (7-5, 2-2 AMCC) broke open a scoreless game with three second-quarter goals and never looked back, adding one in the third and three more in the fourth. Hilbert (1-9, 0-4 AMCC) found the back of the net late in the contest when Ellie Pembleton scored unassisted with 3:45 remaining.

Despite the result, Hilbert's seniors made their presence felt across the field. Madison Matuszak led the defensive effort with four ground balls, two caused turnovers, and a draw control, while Madeleine Cook added four ground balls and a caused turnover. Caitlin Conrad contributed a ground ball and a caused turnover, and Jewely Monford chipped in with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a strong defensive showing.

In the midfield, Michaela Rice recorded a ground ball, two caused turnovers, and a draw control, while Olivia Horn added a ground ball and caused turnover. Jacqueline Alaburda registered a shot, and McKenna Rice battled throughout, forcing turnovers and playing key minutes in transition.

In goal, Olivia Cleary turned in a standout performance with 14 saves, keeping the Hawks within reach against a high-volume La Roche attack that totaled 34 shots.

Hilbert finished with 27 ground balls and forced 12 turnovers as a team, continuing to show resilience and effort throughout all four quarters.
