HAMBURG, N.Y. – Three different Hawks scored four goals each as the women's lacrosse team closed out their home portion of the 2014 schedule with a 19-10 victory over Franciscan University today.

Playing in their last home game as a Hawk, Hilbert's Robbi Bailey scored her first goal of the season off a free position shot while earning game high-honors of six ground balls and one caused turnover.  Kristi Mergenhagen also played well tossing in two goals with four ground balls and caused one Franciscan turnover.

Leading the offensive charge with seven points on four goals was Nikki Schneider.  She also scooped up five ground balls and went one for two on free position shots.  Adding four goals each was Kelly Mandell who is returning to her scoring pace from a season ago and Megan Smith who leads the Hawks with 21 goals on the year.

Hilbert dominated in shots (37-22) and held a 10-0 free-position shot advantage.  The Hawks took care of the ball and were credited with only six turnovers.   Both teams split the 20 draw controls right down the middle.

Kylie Reinholz added three assists and Chantelle Mikolajczak scored once with an assist.

Schneider pushed the Hawks out to a 2-0 lead just four minutes into the game before Franciscan responded.  Hilbert scored a few goals here and there and the Barons would interrupt the run with a tally.  By half time, Hilbert was in control with an 11-6 lead.  Breana Cline and Harlie Decker posted scores by 26:06 but Franciscan rallied and scored three unanswered goals to cut the difference to six.  The Hawks found their grove and put a run of five hits together for the win.

The women's lacrosse team closes out their 2014 season with a road game at Cazenovia College April 15th.
