Men's Soccer

Hawks Clawed by the Bobcats

Box Score

GREENSBURG, PaMatt Hamister evened the score early in the first half but that was all that Hilbert could muster together on offense as the Hawks fell 5-1 to Pitt-Greensburg in men's soccer October 11.  The Bobcats scored back-to-back goals in each half to pull away and improve to 3-1-1 in league play while they held Hilbert win-less in the AMCC standings.

Brandon Henry faced all eight shots on goal in the 82 minutes of action today.  Ryan Valentine made his fifth appearance of the season and his defense in front of him limited the Bobcats from clearing a ball towards to the frame.

Hamister was the only Hawk to maneuver for more than one shot on goal.  Seven total Hilbert players worked on offense in an effort to beat the Greensburg goal keeper, but none other were able to find a good angle.

Greensburg opened the game's scoring at 6:55 and Hilbert knotted it up in the 15th minute.  Then at 31:55 and seven minutes later, the hosts held a 3-1 advantage by intermission.  The Bobcats netted twice, ten minutes apart in the second half, to close out the game's scoring.

The men's soccer team will honor their seniors next Saturday, October 18th prior to their kick-off against Franciscan University.

The Hawks remaining home contest is set for Wednesday, October 22 against Medaille College and the team invites all fans to join them as they wear PINK that day.
