2013 Snapshot of Play-off Team Leaders, conference only stats
HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Hilbert College women's volleyball team continues on in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference post-season this weekend. Their goal is to play as a team, use their strengths to their advantage and to stay positive with the hopes of winning two games and claiming the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament.
The Hawks (14-19) swept their First Round opponent November 6 and earned the right to challenge Penn State Behrend (20-8) in the 3pm semi-final game November 9 in Erie, PA. The match will be featured on Behrend's website via

In their only other meeting this year on October 9th, Hilbert suffered a 3-1 road loss to Behrend. The Lions won the first set in extended play (26-24) before Hilbert grabbed the second set (25-23) to even the score. A devastating third set, with 11 hitting errors and only two kills, cost the Hawks the game (25-12). Hilbert re-focused in the fourth set, but just couldn't defend against Behrend's effective hitters and lost the set/match (25-17).
Allegra Johnson finished with game-high 18 kills and
Ashley Viengmay also grabbed game-high honors with 20 digs. But where Johnson reached double-digit kills, no other Hawk contributed more than seven (
Amanda Binder). The Lions had three players combine for 29 kills. Behrend finished the match with .228 attack percentage vs. the Hawk's .100. It must be stated though, that Hilbert was not at full strength as
Chelsea Reischuck was missing from the line-up. Her hitting presence was sorely missed.
Franciscan (#2) will face Pitt-Bradford (#6) in the other semi-final match November 9 at 5:30 pm. Franciscan took the regular season match 3-1 (25-19, 31-29, 19-25, 25-21) over Bradford.
The Championship match will be played on Sunday, November 10 at 1pm, also streamed live (
