Freshman Jackie Morgan came through for the women’s soccer team when they needed a lift this week. The midfielder assisted twice for the Hawks in their 4-0 shutout September 25 over Wells College and saved her best effort for the weekend opening AMCC game. The Linwood, NY native had a foot on all offensive stats in Hilbert’s 3-2 double overtime victory over Mount Aloysius. She gave Sarah Schmidt a perfect pass for the Hawks first score. Then the rookie tied the game in the 83rd minute to force overtime. And in the start of the second ten-minute overtime period, Morgan delivered the game winning goal. Not only did she score her first collegiate goal, she earned five points for the day and pushed the Hawks to 3-4 overall this season.
