Katelyn Proy played a big part in the basketball team’s first week of success as she earned her first Hawk of the Week honor this season.
The 6’2 forward scored 18 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and finished with 11 blocks in a pair of non-conference games for Hilbert who went 1-1. She averaged nine points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game in the Hawks’ 78-51 loss to Geneseo November 8th and in their 53-49 victory over Elmira November 10th.
For the week, the Kenmore West native shot 39 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.
Proy was three blocks shy of earning her first career triple double after she scored 10 points, pulled down 16 rebounds and was credited with seven blocks in Hilbert’s win against Elmira. She tossed in eight points , grabbed seven rebounds and swatted four blocks in the loss to the reigning SUNYAC Champs, Geneseo.
