Masia Phillips’ timely scoring last week lifted him to his second Hawk of the Week honor this season.

The 6-1 combo guard hit a big trifecta at the close of the week against Altoona and scored 16 points in the Hawks first-ever victory over Behrend (in Erie).  Phillips collected 23 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals as the men’s basketball team went 2-0 on the road at the end of the regular season.

The Laurelton, NY native hit 6-of-10 shots from the floor, grabbed nine rebounds and dished for three assists in the 14-point victory over Penn State Behrend.  After scoring only two points in the game’s first 39 minutes and 48-seconds, Phillips tallied Hilbert’s final five points for the come-back win.  He converted an offensive rebound-put back with 12 seconds on the clock and drained a 3-pointer for the win with less than four seconds left in the game.

Phillips finished the regular season ranked #8 in AMCC with 14.0 points per game.
