Melanie Basile (Williamsville, N.Y.) led the charge with .444 batting average over the course of six games. 

She earned eight hits, knocked in four runs with only three strikeouts with a 100 percent fielding accuracy. 

The senior outfielder went 2 for 3, scored three runs with 1 RBI and four putouts in the win over La Roche.

Basile thrived during three days of double header Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action due to multiple postponements related to Covid-19 contract tracing protocols.  The Hawks battled Pitt-Bradford (1-9/1-8) and Penn State Behrend (1-7/3-11) in two away games 90 minutes from campus.  They then closed the road-trip in Pittsburgh with a 9-1 loss before earning their first win of the season 13-9.
