Hilbert College Athletics

Marisa McIntyre had a break-out week for the softball team and earned her first Hawk of the Week honor today.

The freshman pitcher tossed 37.2 innings for Hilbert during the spring break training tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C.   She went 5-2 helping Hilbert to a 6-6 overall record, the program’s best start to a season.

The Adirondack (Alder Creek, N.Y.) native earned a league-leading 52 strike-outs (9.66 strike-outs per game) for a 1.49 era average.  She gave up 14 runs, 33 hits and 16 walks in five complete games inside the circle. Twice during the week she collected double-digit strike-outs.

The Hawks softball team is three wins away from beating last season’s 8-27 overall record in John Hall’s first season as the head coach.
