Hunter Martineau earned his first Hawk of the Week honor after directing the men’s basketball team through a pair of league games last week.
The freshman point guard quarterbacked the team for 71 minutes of action scoring 25 points, grabbing 10 rebounds while credited with eight assists and six steals during Hilbert’s opening Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference games.
The Orlando, FL native averaged 12.5 points, five rebounds and finished with a 2.7 assist to turnover ratio with three steals for the 4-3 Hawks.
In Hilbert’s 84-75 victory over Bradford, Martineau went 6-for-10 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the foul line., scoring 14 points while adding five assists. On Saturday, the 5-10 guard sank four buckets and went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe to toss in 11 points while stealing four balls in the Hawks’ 84-83 loss at Altoona.
