Korey Schwab earned his first Hawk of the Week this year, just as he became the men’s volleyball program’s All-Time Service Ace leader.
The senior Outside Hitter helped his Hawks improve to 7-8 and 4-4 in NEAC play all the while his career milestone was looming over his head.
He collected 27 kills, four assists, 11 digs and three block assists in Hilbert’s 2-1 cross-over games played in Chambersburg, Pa. It was his two service aces that placed him on top.
The Hawks picked-up a pair of victories over Lancaster Bible and Wilson College with Schwab striking for nine kills each match. He added a single ace on Friday against LBC to force a two-way tie for the lead at 84. The next morning, in the Hawk’s straight-set win, Schwab scored an ace to become the All Time Leader with 85….. and counting.
In the final set of the weekend, Hilbert took Penn State Altoona to four competitive sets before falling. Schwab added nine more kills and six digs.
